Reports of IRGC Forces Trapped in South Lebanon Tunnels Deemed False

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, claims suggesting that several members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) are trapped in tunnels in the Al-Taher region of southern Lebanon have been refuted. Information indicates that the forces present in the two tunnels targeted by Israeli army operations and explosions were fighters from Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement, with no IRGC personnel reported as being held in these locations.

Based on available details, 48 Hezbollah operatives were present in these two tunnels. During the Israeli regime’s attacks, eight Hezbollah fighters were martyred. The Israeli army recently announced the destruction of Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure in the Al-Taher heights, stating that over 1,100 tons of explosives were used to demolish two subterranean routes.

Despite these facts, some foreign media outlets had previously alleged the presence of Iranian military advisors in this complex. This assertion is inconsistent with the realities concerning the forces present in the tunnels and the reports related to the Israeli army’s operation.
