Netanyahu’s Office Confirms UAE Visit with Mossad Chief Amid Regional Challenges
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the office of Israeli Prime Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed his visit to the United Arab Emirates, stating that the objective of the trip was to strengthen bilateral relations and confront regional challenges.
The statement indicated that during the visit, Netanyahu was accompanied by his wife, Sara Netanyahu, the head of the Israeli National Security Council, and Mossad chief David Barnea, along with other Israeli officials.
Netanyahu’s office also refuted a report published by the Associated Press. Previously, the Associated Press, citing informed sources, reported that Benjamin Netanyahu had asked Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to deny reports about a prior warning he allegedly issued regarding the outbreak of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation. The report claimed Netanyahu had asked the UAE President to refute a recent Haaretz newspaper report which stated that Mohammed bin Zayed had informed Netanyahu of the possibility of the October 7, 2023 operation beforehand.
Netanyahu’s office had previously denied this report, asserting that Israeli media had fabricated a false story against the Prime Prime Minister that never occurred.
Channel 14 of the Israeli television network, citing an Emirati official, reported that representatives from several Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, participated in a meeting in Abu Dhabi between Prime Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed on Sunday. According to the report, the meeting was held at Netanyahu’s request and consisted of two parts: one between Israeli and Emirati representatives, and another involving representatives from Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia.
Three main topics were discussed during the meeting: the continuation of security cooperation, particularly concerning air defense systems like the Iron Dome; the ongoing confrontation with Iran and the Houthis; and the potential formation of a joint coalition, possibly against Iran.
