France Claims Warship Escorted 10 Vessels in Bab al-Mandab Strait

The French military has claimed one of its warships escorted 10 vessels through the Bab al-Mandab Strait as part of a European Union mission last week. This assertion comes amid reports from Yemen’s transportation ministry detailing regular commercial traffic through the strategic waterway.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the French army has alleged that one of its warships escorted 10 vessels through the Bab al-Mandab Strait last week, a mission it stated was part of a European Union initiative. The French military further claimed it is collaborating with Saudi partners to clarify the requirements of military missions aimed at securing energy infrastructure.

These claims by the French army were made on the same day that Yemen’s Ministry of Transportation in Sanaa reported that 198 commercial ships transited the Bab al-Mandab Strait over a five-day period. The ministry emphasized the continued regularity of maritime navigation and the normal passage of vessels through the strategically vital Bab al-Mandab Strait.
