Netanyahu Claims Flydubai Co-pilot Was a Suicide Bomber, Cites Iran Threat

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asserted that the co-pilot of a Flydubai flight was a suicide bomber influenced by radical ideology, and suggested potential involvement by Iran and its proxies. However, Israel’s envoy to the UAE stated that the motive behind the incident remains unclear.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that the co-pilot of a Flydubai flight was a suicide bomber motivated by radical ideology. He stated that investigations are ongoing into the motives behind the aircraft’s incident, adding that the co-pilot had been exposed to radical ideological influences.

Netanyahu further alleged that the incident could be repeated, citing indications that Iran and its proxy forces are attempting to carry out attacks against Israel during the election season. He indicated that it would take a few days to determine if the co-pilot had any connection to Iran.

The Israeli Prime Minister also acknowledged a loophole and defect in the pilot selection and vetting process, which he stated is being addressed. He mentioned that Israel is cooperating with the UAE to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

These claims by Netanyahu come as Israel’s envoy to the UAE stated that the motive behind the Flydubai incident has not yet been determined and that it is too early to draw conclusions. The Israeli official added that the Prime Minister of the occupying regime spoke with the UAE’s President on Wednesday following the Flydubai incident.

The official statement from the UAE’s official news agency (WAM) announced that the country’s Public Prosecution had ordered an investigation into the Flydubai aircraft incident and its potential connection to any terrorist activities.

On Wednesday, October 1, Flydubai flight FZ1073, en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv, was forced to divert and make an emergency landing at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia following a security incident in the cockpit.
