Hezbollah Lebanon Hails US Withdrawal from Iraq as Harbinger of Regional Exit

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hezbollah of Lebanon issued a statement congratulating Iraq, its religious authorities, government, and people on the occasion of the withdrawal of American forces. The statement emphasized that these forces departed Iraq in failure and humiliation after their ambitions were thwarted and they could not achieve their outlined objectives against the free will of the Iraqi people.
Hezbollah highlighted that over two decades have passed since the invasion and occupation of Iraq, resulting in terrorism, dominance, coercion, suppression of the Iraqi people, sowing discord among citizens, and the plundering of national wealth. These actions have left behind immense tragedies, destruction, and suffering.
The statement further asserted that this achievement would not have been possible without the steadfastness of the proud Iraqi nation, its courageous resistance, its strong free will, and its firm resolve to confront the occupation and expel the invaders from their land. It also acknowledged the great sacrifices made in this pursuit, including thousands of martyrs and wounded.
Hezbollah of Lebanon added that this accomplishment reiterates that no matter how much time passes, sacrifices increase, and the occupier’s power, arrogance, dominance, and brutality grow, even with all the tools of power and suppression at their disposal, they cannot force free peoples to surrender or break their will.
The statement concluded that the fate of occupiers, when faced with the awareness, steadfastness, and resistance of nations, and their adherence to their rights for freedom, sovereignty, and independence, will be nothing but decline, defeat, and downfall.
Hezbollah ended by congratulating Iraq on this historic event, wishing the country continued honor, pride, and prosperity, and wishing its citizens, leaders, and religious authorities lasting peace and success. The party also saluted all combatants, martyrs, the wounded, and all free individuals who, through their sacrifices and blood, paved the way for the beginning of the end of the U.S. military presence in the West Asia region.
This statement was issued following the U.S. termination of its military mission in Iraq on September 30, 2026, with coalition forces led by the United States departing the country.
