Ukraine Faces Drone Engine Shortage, President Zelensky Admits

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has admitted that the country is facing a deficit in engines for interceptor drones, impacting its capacity to confront Russian drone assaults. In comments made to the Financial Times, Zelensky revealed that while Ukraine imports numerous engines for these drones and produces some domestically, the combined volume is not enough to fulfill its requirements.
Zelensky identified the scarcity of engines as a primary obstacle to the development and increased production of interceptor drones. He noted that Ukraine is currently testing five distinct models of these drones.
The Ukrainian president further indicated the nation’s aim to produce approximately 400 units of one interceptor drone model by the end of October. However, he cautioned that the other four models are still undergoing testing phases.
