Yemen Rights Body Condemns Saudi ‘War Crimes’ in Saada Province

The National Human Rights Institution in Yemen has issued a strong condemnation of Saudi Arabia’s alleged continued ‘barbaric crimes’ against innocent civilians in the border villages of Saada province, denouncing the attacks as a clear violation of international humanitarian law.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the National Human Rights Institution in Yemen, affiliated with the Houthi movement, has issued a statement asserting that Saudi Arabia persists in its brutal attacks against defenseless civilians in the border villages of Saada province. The institution highlighted that Saudi Arabia has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Munabbih district, specifically targeting areas such as Al-Mahallah and Al-Qahr-Hattab. Furthermore, the Al-Jubana area in Razih, along with villages in Al-Dhaher, Marran, and Haydan, have been subjected to Saudi missile and artillery shelling. The institution emphasized that the situation in Saada is not an isolated incident but rather indicative of a deliberate and ongoing policy of killing. This policy targets the Yemeni people and even African migrants who have sought refuge in the country. The statement suggested that Saudi Arabia is retaliating against civilians in border villages due to their resistance, following battlefield setbacks. These actions, the institution concluded, constitute comprehensive war crimes under the Geneva Conventions and humanitarian laws.
