Trump Pledges $5,000 Payout to Americans if Republicans Sweep Congress
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency, quoting Al Jazeera, U.S. President Donald Trump, in an election-themed video message, once again repeated his unfeasible financial promise, stating that if Republicans win both the House of Representatives and the Senate, every adult American citizen will receive $5,000.
The U.S. President claimed: “Republicans can do this, Democrats cannot!”
This comes as only a small number of Republican lawmakers have supported Trump’s populist promises, and candidates from the party are not emphasizing this issue in their election campaigns. Many of these lawmakers have expressed concerns about the exorbitant costs of implementing Trump’s unfounded pledges and their impact on inflation.
Currently, the number of American citizens is estimated at 245 million, and fulfilling Trump’s promises would require an expenditure of $1.220 trillion.
