Charles de Gaulle’s Grandson: French Youth Have Lost Faith in Politicians and Media

Pierre de Gaulle, grandson of the late French President Charles de Gaulle, has stated that French youth no longer trust politicians or major media outlets, believing they are being misled and that truths are being intentionally concealed. He also expressed hopes for a future French president possessing qualities he admires in Vladimir Putin.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Pierre de Gaulle, grandson of General Charles de Gaulle and vice-president of the jury for the Leo Tolstoy Peace Prize, has stated that French youth have lost their trust in politicians and major media outlets. Reporting by Mehr News Agency, citing Russia Today, quoted de Gaulle as saying that young people believe certain factions are lying to them, distorting facts, and deliberately withholding truths.

In another part of his remarks, the grandson of General de Gaulle expressed hope that the future president of France will possess qualities that he believes are present in Vladimir Putin.

He also stated that the current French government enjoys the support of less than 20 percent of the population.
