US Senator Chris Murphy Denied Access to Key Military Base in Qatar by Pentagon

U.S. Senator Chris Murphy revealed that the Pentagon prevented him from accessing the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar during his recent trip to West Asia, labeling the move as an effort by the U.S. government to conceal the consequences of the war with Iran.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy has announced that the Department of Defense obstructed his access to a crucial American military base in Qatar during his recent tour of West Asia. He characterized this action as part of the U.S. administration’s endeavor to obscure the ramifications of the conflict with Iran.

Reuters reported that Al Udeid Air Base is the largest U.S. facility in the region and has been repeatedly targeted by Iran during the war initiated by the United States and Israel in February.

Speaking to reporters in Riyadh, the second stop on his itinerary, Murphy stated, “This trip solidified for me that there is an active, unprecedented, and unconstitutional effort underway to keep the costs and consequences of this war hidden from Congress and the American people.”

Chris Murphy further added that the Pentagon refused to hold a briefing on the war for him while he was in the region.

The U.S. senator commented, “In all my years in the Senate, I have never encountered anything like this; this is part of a deliberate campaign to conceal facts that my Republican colleagues in Congress must call to end.”
