US Secretary of State Rubio Declares Strait of Hormuz Remains Open Amid Energy Price Surge

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that Washington cannot accept one country controlling a vital maritime route. Speaking at a press conference in Greece, Rubio emphasized the need for diverse energy sources and supply routes, stating that the United States cannot accept dependence on a single maritime passage.
Addressing the energy crisis and price fluctuations, Rubio asserted, “The Strait of Hormuz is open, and the amount of oil exiting through it is precisely the same amount that exited before it was closed.”
The U.S. Secretary of State also alleged that Iran has failed to utilize several opportunities to reach an agreement with Washington regarding its nuclear program, disregarding his country’s own commitments and demands concerning Iran. Rubio further claimed that Iran will never achieve nuclear weapons and is attempting to remove American forces from the region, an action that U.S. President Donald Trump will not permit, according to the Secretary.
Rubio also asserted that Iran has lost full control of the Strait of Hormuz. These statements from the U.S. Secretary of State come at a time when fuel and energy prices have set records in the United States and European countries and continue to rise.
