Putin Commends Iran’s Genuine Efforts to End Middle East Conflict

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian during a visit to Turkmenistan, praising Iran’s sincere endeavors to de-escalate regional conflicts and affirming strong bilateral ties.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, during a visit to Turkmenistan, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a separate meeting with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian. The meeting’s details were published by Mehr News Agency, citing Russia Al-Youm.

President Putin emphasized that relations between Russia and Iran are developing positively. Trade turnover between the two nations saw an increase of over 21 percent by the end of 2025, a trend that has continued into the first seven months of the current year.

Putin also requested that Pezeshkian convey his regards to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

The Russian President further stated that his country is prepared to do everything in its power to assist Iran in resolving the Middle East crisis. Putin underscored the urgency of the Middle East situation, acknowledging Iran’s genuine efforts to conclude conflicts in the region, a stance that Russia understands.
