Trump Clarifies Remarks on Potential Iranian Attacks on US Cities

President Donald Trump has clarified his recent statements regarding the possibility of Iran targeting American cities, asserting that his remarks about Los Angeles and San Diego were misinterpreted amid widespread criticism.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Donald Trump claimed that his comments concerning the “devastation” of Los Angeles and San Diego were misconstrued in response to criticism of his recent statements about potential Iranian attacks on Californian cities. This is based on data published by Mehr News Agency, quoting Reuters.

Trump had previously stated at a political rally in Nebraska that increased costs during wartime represent a “small price” and then spoke of the possibility of cities like Los Angeles and San Diego being targeted by Iran. These remarks drew reactions and criticism from a number of officials and political leaders in the United States.

In a new explanation on the “Truth Social” network, the President of the United States claimed that his intention was that a temporary increase in gasoline prices would be a negligible cost compared to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Trump further asserted that if Iran were to attack Los Angeles or San Diego, it would impose significantly heavier costs on the United States.
