Pentagon Confirms Nidal Hasan’s Execution by Firing Squad to Be Broadcast Live

The U.S. Department of Defense has announced that the execution of Army psychiatrist Nidal Malik Hasan, convicted of killing 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, will be carried out by firing squad and broadcast live, marking the first military execution of its kind since 1961.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the U.S. Department of Defense, known as the Pentagon, has confirmed that the execution of Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan will be conducted publicly via firing squad and broadcast live. Hasan was convicted of killing 13 individuals at a military installation. U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegset stated, “We must ensure that people see this operation, and it will be public.” This development follows President Donald Trump’s approval of the execution order for Hasan, a psychologist in the U.S. Army responsible for the deaths of 13 people at the Fort Hood military base. Nidal Hasan fatally shot 13 people and injured 30 others at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009. A Pentagon spokesperson stated that Secretary of War Pete Hegset and President Trump agreed to carry out the death sentence through execution by firing squad for Nidal Malik Hasan. This will be the first execution ordered by the U.S. military since 1961.
