Iraqi Coalition Warns of U.S. Attempts to Control Energy Sector

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, an Iraqi political coalition has voiced serious concerns over persistent attempts by the United States government to extend its influence into critical sectors of Iraq’s economy. Moain Al-Kazemi, a member of the Coordination Framework coalition, stated that the U.S. administration is actively seeking to impose economic guardianship over Iraq and gain control of strategic decision-making, particularly within the oil and energy industries.
Al-Kazemi emphasized the urgent need for Iraq to liberate its oil and energy sector from American influence and to halt the monopolistic practices of U.S. companies in investment projects. He warned that failing to do so would expose Iraq’s energy security to foreign extortion. The coalition advocates for broader cooperation with major companies from both Eastern and Western nations.
These warnings come amid ongoing initiatives to link Iraqi oil to the Mediterranean through prominent American corporations such as Chevron. Notably, these are the same companies involved in the operation of gas fields in occupied Palestine, including Tamar and Leviathan. This development suggests a concerted effort to centralize the region’s energy sector under a single command structure overseen by Washington. The underlying objective appears to be neutralizing the role of oil and ensuring it cannot be leveraged as a political or economic pressure tool against the Israeli regime in the future.
