Trump: Time for Ukraine to Choose New Leader, War Should Not Have Started

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, stated in response to journalists’ questions that President Zelenskyy had multiple opportunities to resolve the war but chose not to, leading to a difficult and avoidable conflict. Trump asserted that if he had been president and the election had not been compromised, the war would never have begun.

Trump elaborated that Ukraine was advised against attacking Russian refineries, as it would create global problems, particularly impacting global diesel fuel supplies since Russia is a major provider. He criticized Zelenskyy for proceeding with attacks on refineries, thereby disrupting essential supplies for farmers and the rest of the world. Trump emphasized that Zelenskyy should cease actions that harm Ukrainian and global agricultural sectors and the international community.

The former U.S. President recommended that Ukrainians select a new leader capable of reaching a settlement, suggesting that Zelenskyy has repeatedly had chances for an agreement but has not pursued them. Trump pointed out that Ukraine has already lost 30% of its territory and suffered immense casualties, with over a million deaths and potentially over two million when considering both sides. He reiterated that this war should not have commenced and believes it is time for Ukraine to choose a new president.

Trump also commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that Putin is keen on reaching an agreement to end the war. He noted that Putin is releasing significant amounts of oil to global markets, which is a positive development. Trump added that while Russia desires a settlement, Zelenskyy, for unspecified reasons, lacks the inclination to agree. He also observed an imbalance in troop numbers, with one side possessing millions more soldiers than the other.
