US Treasury Secretary Claims Washington Pursues ‘Complete Isolation’ of Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, while his country faces significant challenges ahead of midterm elections and amid actions against Iran, claimed in an interview with Fox News that Washington is now pursuing a strategy of “complete isolation” after its maximum pressure campaign against Iran, with the goal of cutting Tehran’s economic ties with the outside world.
Bessent alleged that the United States will continue to pressure Tehran by seizing digital currency assets linked to Iran and intensifying maritime blockades. Without referencing the closure of the Strait of Hormuz or the high fuel prices resulting from the crisis in this strategic strait, he claimed that Iran no longer has oil on its ships and its cash flow has become negative.
The U.S. Treasury Secretary further claimed that Iran flies drones every night but has lost its surveillance capabilities, and its drones are targeting some ships.
Bessent had previously stated that Washington intends to seize approximately $1 billion in digital currency assets linked to Iran and further isolate Tehran by restricting land and sea trade routes.
