Lavrov to Attend CICA Summit in Baku, Focus on Asian Cooperation

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is scheduled to participate in the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on Thursday. The summit is set to take place on October 15, 2026, hosted by Azerbaijan with the support of the CICA Secretariat. Heads of state and government, representatives from member and observer states, and partner organizations are expected to attend.

Official CICA data indicates that the summit’s objectives include strengthening dialogue, mutual trust, and constructive cooperation, as well as promoting peace, security, and sustainable development across Asia. Azerbaijani news agencies have reported that the summit will explore future development paths for CICA and the organization’s role in expanding multilateral cooperation within the Eurasian region.
