According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States Department of the Treasury has announced new sanctions against 16 individuals and 10 entities related to Iran, as reported by the Mehr News Agency citing Reuters.
The administration of President Donald Trump imposed these new sanctions on Iran on Thursday, October 15, 2026 (Mehr 23, 1405).
The statement did not provide further details regarding the identities of the sanctioned individuals and entities, nor the specific reasons behind this action.
This move is a continuation of the US administration’s sanction policy against Iran.
In recent months, the US government has expanded the scope of its sanctions related to Iran in the financial, oil, petrochemical, transportation, and military equipment supply sectors.
Notably, on September 29, 2026 (Mehr 7, 1405), the US Treasury Department also announced sanctions against 10 individuals and entities in several countries accused of participating in the supply of weapons and parts needed by Iran’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics.
Many countries worldwide have deemed the unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States as illegal and have emphasized their continued trade with Iran.
