China Denounces U.S. Arrest Warrant for Raul Castro, Demands End to Cuba Embargo

China has strongly condemned a U.S. judicial action against former Cuban President Raul Castro, reiterating its demand for an immediate end to the economic blockade against the island nation.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China has condemned the United States’ judicial action against former Cuban President Raul Castro, calling for an immediate cessation of the country’s economic blockade. Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated on Wednesday that Beijing supports Cuba’s national sovereignty and opposes the misuse of judicial tools and foreign intervention. She urged Washington to halt its actions against the Cuban people.

This stance follows the issuance of an arrest warrant for the 95-year-old Castro by a Florida court. The warrant is reportedly linked to the 1996 downing of two civilian aircraft. Raul Castro faces what are described as baseless charges, including four counts of murder, destruction of two aircraft, and conspiracy to murder U.S. citizens.
