France Deploys Police Trainees Ahead of Saturday Protests, Boosts Security Measures

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the French government announced a 20 percent increase in security forces and intensified security measures ahead of Saturday’s planned protests. This comes as authorities seek to manage potential demonstrations across the country.
The General Directorate of the National Police has requested volunteer trainees nearing the end of their courses to assist in bolstering security. The Directorate claims these trainees will be assigned to roles such as protecting buildings and administrative tasks, and will not be directly involved in crowd control operations.
In total, the French government intends to deploy over 60,000 security personnel to ensure order during the protests. Military forces from Operation Sentinelle, specialized units, and riot police will also be on high alert, indicating a comprehensive approach to managing the anticipated events.
French officials have enacted a series of restrictions, including a nighttime curfew in specific areas, bans on carrying incendiary materials and protective equipment, and limitations on public gatherings in major cities such as Paris, Lyon, Nice, and Marseille. The government has also called for organized protests to remain within the framework of labor unions.
