Bloomberg Reports Saudi Arabia Records Negative Economic Growth for Second Consecutive Quarter in 2026

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, American news agency Bloomberg has announced that the Saudi economy shrank by 3.8 percent in the third quarter of 2026, registering negative growth for the second successive quarter—an occurrence recorded for the first time since 2023.
Findings from the media outlet indicate that the Saudi economy is on track to post one of its weakest economic performances in recent years. In an earlier report, Bloomberg highlighted the heavy fallout from regional developments and Yemeni military operations on Saudi Arabia, stating that these events have severely impacted Riyadh’s economy and eroded one of its most crucial attractions for foreign investment: stability and security.
Meanwhile, economic experts and former International Monetary Fund officials have warned that the continuation of these conditions poses serious risks to the tourism, transportation, and foreign investment sectors, effectively blocking Riyadh’s path toward economic diversification. The news agency also added that even growth in Saudi oil revenues will not be sufficient to offset the extensive losses inflicted by these conflicts on non-oil sectors. Consequently, the Saudi stock exchange index has dropped to the threshold of its lowest level since 2021 following persistent losses over the past two months.
