Haaretz: Opposition to Israel Does Not Hinder Victory in US Elections

The success of Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan’s US Senate race demonstrates that standing against Israeli policies does not preclude electoral victory, despite heavy opposition and substantial lobbying efforts.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the recent political triumph of Abdul El-Sayed, a Democratic candidate holding critical stances against Israeli policies in the state of Michigan, highlights that resistance against the Zionist regime is not a barrier to securing electoral success.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the notable achievements of Democrats in Michigan and surrounding areas have further exposed the limitations of the political influence wielded by the Israeli regime. According to the report, the pioneering Muslim candidate successfully secured his victory despite an allocation of approximately $40 million by AIPAC aimed at defeating him.

The publication further noted that Abdul El-Sayed managed to overcome Mike Rogers, the candidate backed by President Donald Trump, in the fiercely contested US Senate battle in Michigan, thereby retaining a crucial seat for the Democratic camp and proving that staunch opposition to Israel does not block the path to victory in federal elections.

Following the confirmation of his Senate victory, Abdul El-Sayed stated, “The Israeli lobby AIPAC spent $42 million against us, yet we succeeded in defeating this lobby. We do not want our money to be spent on racism, genocide, or wars. Donald, look, I know pronouncing my name was difficult for you. Therefore, after JD Vance administers my oath of office in January, you can just call me ‘Senator’ from now on.”

The victorious candidate had previously adopted sharp stances against the crimes committed by the Israeli regime and the genocide in the Gaza Strip, a position that had drawn considerable backlash from President Donald Trump.
