The Seventh World Media Summit opened its doors in Beijing, running from November 5 to 9 under the stewardship of the Xinhua News Agency. The high-profile international gathering has drawn representatives from approximately 330 media outlets, think tanks, government agencies, and international organizations from across the globe.

A delegation from the Mehr Media Group is actively participating in the summit alongside media executives, experts, and professionals from various nations. Operating under the central theme “Media in the Age of Intelligence: From Consensus to Action,” the five-day event features nearly 500 attendees representing 112 countries and regions, aiming to address profound transformations within the media industry and foster international cooperation in the era of advanced technologies.

The integration of artificial intelligence into the future of global media serves as a core focal point of the summit. Expert panel discussions are addressing the disruptive impact of AI on international journalism, assessing the opportunities and obstacles presented by emerging technologies in content production and dissemination, and emphasizing the necessity of strengthening cross-border media relations.

Key thematic sessions scheduled throughout the event include “Artificial Intelligence for All and Global Media Transformation,” “Media Dialogue and Cooperation for a Safer World,” “Artificial Intelligence and the Expansion of Inter-Civilizational Exchanges,” and “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Global Communication Governance.”

In addition to technological discourse, the summit program features a dedicated session titled “Beijing’s Approach: Decoding China’s Modernization,” which examines China’s developmental path and modernization strategies.

Complementing the formal sessions, side events have been organized to showcase Beijing’s rich historical and cultural heritage. Participating delegates are scheduled to tour prominent cultural landmarks and tourist destinations across the city, including the Lao She Teahouse, the Beijing Fan Cultural Complex, and Shichahai Lake.

Established in 2009 through an initiative by the Xinhua News Agency, the World Media Summit has evolved over the years into a premier platform for global media institutions to exchange expertise, share strategic insights, and expand international cooperation networks.
