Donald Trump Teases Cabinet Shakeup Following Midterm Setbacks and Hegseth Controversy

U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted at potential cabinet changes following significant midterm election losses for his party, while strongly defending Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth amid mounting congressional pressure.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that alterations to his administration could be on the horizon. Frustrated by the midterm congressional election results and the heavy setbacks faced by his fellow party members, Trump addressed the possibility during an interview with the CBS news network, while declining to disclose specific names at this current juncture.

The U.S. President sidestepped questions regarding statements from domestic officials concerning military aggression against Iran as the primary reason for the electoral defeat suffered by him and his party. Claiming success, Trump stated, “I have confidence in Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth; we fought in two wars, in Venezuela and Iran, and we won both!”

Previously, CNN reported that the House of Representatives might vote to oust Hegseth in the coming weeks, with a number of Republican lawmakers reportedly prepared to back the measure. Representative Thomas Massie had earlier declared that he would pursue the matter and would only retreat from his stance if Hegseth resigned.

The media network also noted that a faction of Republicans holds Hegseth directly responsible for miscalculated assessments regarding the military conflict with Iran.
