Demonstrators demonstrated in the “Big Spring” park of this city in protest of Israel’s widespread attacks against the people of Gaza.
Protesters in Huntsville, which is also known as Rocket City due to the location of many American space programs in this city, had cloths with writings on them. It was written “Cease fire now” and “You don’t have to be a Muslim to support the Palestinian people.”
The demonstrators expressed concern over the killing of the Palestinian people and the continued killing of civilians and asked the US to stop aid to Israel. They asked other Huntsville residents to join them in supporting the Palestinian people.
This demonstration takes place while the Associated Press has reported that Israel is close to approving a plan to expand the attacks on Rafah in southern Gaza. More than two and a half million Palestinians have been displaced in southern Gaza. Rafah is the main crossing point for aid to enter Gaza.
