Deputy Blinken resigned

Anthony Blinken confirmed the impending resignation of US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Noland.

American media reports that this decision was made by Noland himself.

Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Noland will leave her post in the coming weeks, Blinken said. It is known that he distributed sweets to the protesters.

10 years ago, he was also scandalized when his phone conversation with Jeffrey Piatt, the US ambassador to Kyiv, was published online. They discussed in detail the formation of the new Ukrainian government, which local opposition leaders should be included in its composition.

In May 2019, it was revealed that Noland was placed on a “blacklist” not to enter Russia in response to US anti-Russian sanctions.

John Bass, Deputy Secretary of Administration, will temporarily replace Noland.
