high inflation; The number one concern of Turkish citizens

The results of a new survey published on Tuesday showed that Turkish citizens are concerned about poverty, social inequality, crime, unemployment and corruption.

The results of a new survey by the Ipsos Group, which was published on Tuesday, showed that the vast majority of Turkish people believe that the country is moving in the “wrong direction”.

According to the website “Turkey Minute”, this survey was conducted with the participation of 20,000 people between January 26 and February 9, and showed that 73 percent of Turkish people believe that the country’s situation is “on the wrong track”, while 74% described the current economic situation of the country as “bad”.

According to the survey, inflation is the “number one” concern for the 23rd consecutive month with a global average of 34 percent. Turkey follows Argentina (69%), Singapore (55%), Canada (55%) and Australia (51%) among the countries that see inflation as their main concern.

Turkish citizens are also concerned about poverty, social inequality, crime and violence, unemployment, financial and political corruption, and terrorism.

Official statistics on Monday showed that Turkey’s annual inflation increased again in February.

Inflation remains a pressing issue for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government ahead of local elections in March.

The ruling Justice and Development Party is trying to gain control of big cities, including Istanbul and Ankara, the capital of this country.

Erdogan said on Sunday that the effect of anti-inflation policies will be felt from the end of the year.
