The US Senate’s vote to approve the budget package prevented the shutdown of the US government

As parts of the US government threatened to shut down, the US Senate passed another $1.2 trillion funding package.

Earlier, the US House of Representatives approved this bill (another budget package worth 1.2 trillion dollars) with 286 votes in favor against 134 votes against, which was then sent to the Senate. According to reports, it would lead to a shutdown of the US government if it was not approved by US senators by midnight on Friday local time. Although they missed the deadline, they finally passed the bill in the early hours of today – Saturday.

CNN TV reported that this $1.2 trillion budget package was approved in the Senate in the early hours of today with 74 votes in favor against 24 votes against.

Now this bill must be signed by US President Joe Biden, and this package is the second budget package of the US government and prevents the shutdown of the country’s government for at least another six months.

“Chuck Schumer”, the leader of the Democratic majority in the United States Senate, said after hours of tense negotiations in the Senate: “It was not easy, but our persistence was worth it.”
