Tom West, the US special representative for Afghanistan, announced in a message on X that he had discussed with Indian officials the development of “unified diplomatic engagement” in support of collective interests related to Afghanistan.
This American diplomat also added: India will continue to provide humanitarian aid and send medicine to Afghanistan.
West stated that during his trip to New Delhi, he met with “Vini Mohan Kwatra”, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of India and “JP Singh”, the head of the Afghanistan and Pakistan Department of this Ministry.
US special representative for Afghanistan has also discussed with Indian officials about the “way forward” for Afghanistan and the country’s needs this year.
This trip takes place while India has expanded its relations with the Taliban government in recent months and recently It allowed Kabul to take control of the Afghan embassy in New Delhi.
