The Gaza war is the focus of the Irish Foreign Minister’s consultation with the authorities of Palestine, Jordan and Egypt

Michael Martin published a message on X social network (former Twitter) and wrote that in a phone call with Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa New Palestine has made him aware of Dublin’s participation in South Africa’s lawsuit against Israel in the International Criminal Court and cooperation with other European countries to recognize the independent state of Palestine.

He added: We also discussed the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the new priorities of the Palestinian government.

Palestinian Foreign Minister also stated that in the conversation with his Jordanian and Egyptian counterparts, they discussed negotiations for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the transfer of relief aid to this strip and the release of Israeli prisoners.

Martin appreciated the “tireless commitment” of Egypt and Jordan to realize a political solution in order to end the “brutal” war of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people.

Ireland has taken a tougher stance against the Zionist regime than other European countries since the Gaza war. Together with Slovenia, Malta and Spain, this country has announced its readiness to recognize the independent state of Palestine as “the only way to achieve peace and security” in the region.

Ireland’s foreign minister also confirmed on Wednesday that Dublin will participate in the South African genocide case against the Zionist regime in the International Court of Justice.

South Africa sued Israel at the International Court of Justice for committing genocide against the Palestinians. This court announced in a ruling in January that Israel must refrain from any action that falls under the Convention against Genocide.

About Dublin’s intervention in this case, Martin said: Deliberately preventing humanitarian aid from reaching civilians, targeting people and civilian infrastructure, arbitrary use of explosive weapons in populated areas, using civilian tools for military purposes, collective punishment of all people. (Palestine) must stop.

He stated that the world community’s point of view is clear and stated: It is enough.

The Zionist regime has launched a massive massacre in Gaza for the past 6 months. This regime has closed all crossings in the Gaza Strip and is bombarding this area.

Last Monday, the UN Security Council approved a resolution in support of establishing an immediate ceasefire in this area. In this resolution, all parties are asked to respect the immediate cessation of hostilities during the month of Ramadan, but the occupation regime’s crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people continue despite the approval of this resolution.

According to reports, more than 32,000 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 74,000 others have been injured.
