The Guardian reported on Ukraine’s renewed attempt to destroy the Crimean bridge

The Guardian English newspaper reported that the Main Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) plans to destroy the Crimean bridge in the first half of this year.

Ukrainian special services are planning to organize the third attack on the Crimean bridge. An official of the Main Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that the destruction of the crossing is “certain”. We will do this in the first half of 2024.

He added that the main information department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has all the necessary tools to solve this task.

It should be noted that the Crimea bridge has been attacked twice so far. The first terrorist attack occurred on October 8, 2022. Then a truck full of explosives detonated in the middle of the bridge as a freight train with fuel was passing through the railway section of the crossing. The bridge itself was badly damaged, but was completely rebuilt a few months later. It is believed that this attack was organized and coordinated with the cooperation of British and Ukrainian special services.

The second terrorist attack occurred on July 17, 2023. A group of NATO naval drones, which were transferred to the Kiev regime, attacked the pillars of the bridge. The engineering structure was damaged again, which was quickly repaired.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his goal is to destroy the Crimea bridge at any cost, as it is said to be a logistical link. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously emphasized that the Crimea bridge will not be used to send troops or weapons to Crimea, and that all of this will be delivered through a land corridor.

The Kiev regime and its western supporters are thinking of destroying this crossing. Recently, Russia intercepted discussions between German generals about how to destroy the Crimean bridge and how many Taurus missiles they would need to do so. This revelation caused a great scandal in Germany. Officials began investigating to find out exactly how the Russians managed to eavesdrop on high-ranking military personnel. At the same time, Berlin did not rule out discussions about plans to destroy the Crimean bridge, although officially the country still insists that it is not a party to the conflict with Russia.
