Kazakhstan: We will increase trade with Afghanistan three times

Kazakhstan Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin told reporters on the sidelines of the country’s parliament session that Kazakhstan plans to increase the level of trade with Afghanistan from one billion to three billion dollars per year.
While the government of Kazakhstan has recently removed the Taliban from the country’s banned list, Zhumangarin stated that the country is seriously trying to cooperate with Afghanistan.
According to “Interfax”, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan added that the country wants to increase the export of flour, wheat and other related products to Afghanistan.
He also stated that Kazakhstan is trying to open a shorter trade route with western Afghanistan through Turkmenistan, in order to increase Kazakhstan’s exports to Afghanistan.
Currently, Kazakhstan trades with Afghanistan through Uzbekistan.
Jumangarin also emphasized that the increase in trade with Afghanistan is conditional on solving logistical problems.
