South Korea has sanctioned several individuals and institutions due to military exchanges between North Korea and Russia

Following the strengthening of military ties between Pyongyang and Moscow during Putin's visit to North Korea, South Korea put several individuals and entities on its sanctions list.

Reuters reported that South Korea’s foreign ministry on Thursday imposed sanctions against eight individuals and five entities due to their connection with military exchanges between North Korea and Russia.

This ministry announced that the sanctioned entities are from Russia, North Korea and third countries.

Seoul claims that this action is aimed at stopping military interactions that threaten the security of the region.

The strengthening of military relations between Moscow and Pyongyang has led to the concern of Seoul and its ally Washington; In this way, it has led America and South Korea to military actions and imposing sanctions against them.

Also, one of the drivers for the imposition of sanctions on South Korea is the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between North Korea and Russia, which greatly strengthens their military cooperation.

Following North Korea’s test of a multi-warhead missile early on Thursday, South Korea along with the US and Japan held a pre-planned drill in the East China Sea today.

Before this, the United States and South Korea conducted an air exercise using the F-22 and F-35 fighters, which are among the most advanced in the world.

The security environment of the Korean peninsula has become extremely tense as Tuesday was the 74th anniversary of the 1950 Korean War, during which the North with the help of the Soviet Union and the South with the support of the United States entered into a three-year war.
