The figure announced by the Iraqi official, who did not want to be named, contradicts the findings of a Reuters poll. A Reuters poll published on October 3rd (Thursday, 12 October) showed that Iraq produced 90,000 barrels per day more than the agreed quota in September.

In response to a question about the findings of this survey, this official said that due to the decrease in exports, the drop in domestic consumption and the decrease in production in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Iraq’s oil production is less than the quota. has been.

Meanwhile, an informed source told Reuters last month that as part of a plan to compensate for the excess production, Iraq is considering increasing its daily oil production in In September, it will decrease to 3,850,000 to 3,900,000 barrels.

Other sources told Reuters that countries’ adherence to their quotas was reviewed earlier this month at a meeting of OPEC+ senior ministers.

It is expected that the issue of compliance with quotas, especially Iraq and Kazakhstan, will continue to be on the agenda of OPEC Plus in the coming weeks.

These two countries have pledged to reduce their daily production by 123,000 barrels in September in order to compensate for the surplus of crude oil production, and in the following months, the surplus production of the previous months compensate.
