Lebanese Politician Responds to U.S. Official Ortega with “Soldier and Death” Painting
A Lebanese politician delivered a sharp rebuke to the U.S. deputy special envoy for the Middle East
According to teh English section of “webangah News Agency,” citing Mehr News Agency and Sky News, Walid Jumblatt, the leader of Lebanon’s Druze community, did not hesitate to respond to the mocking message from Morgan Ortagus, the U.S. Deputy Special envoy for the Middle East.
Ortagus had reacted on Saturday via X (formerly Twitter) to an interview with walid Jumblatt in which he criticized the conditions mentioned regarding Hezbollah’s weapons. She wrote: “Walid… drugs are harmful!”
Jumblatt did not leave Ortagus’ mockery unanswered and responded by posting an image on X of Hans larwin’s painting “The Soldier and Death,” captioned with the phrase “Ugly American.”
