Putin Offers Proposal to Halt Fighting Along Frontlines: Financial Times

According to a report by the English section of Webangah news Agency, ⁤citing Reuters, Russian President‍ Vladimir Putin has proposed halting attacks on Ukraine along⁣ the active frontlines.⁤

Based on this, the Financial Times newspaper reported: The Russian ‌president has suggested that his country suspend its offensive against Ukraine​ within the current active​ frontlines.This move is part of efforts to reach a peace agreement with⁣ Donald Trump, as proposed by the U.S.president.

Per this report, published by Agence⁢ france-Presse (AFP), Putin stated during a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister⁣ Viktor Orbán—Trump’s special representative—in early July in St. ⁤Petersburg: “It is indeed possible to withdraw claims regarding four Ukrainian regions partially under occupation.”russia and Ukraine are under the control of the KIIV group, with limited influence.

This proposal,if accurate,could indicate​ a willingness by Kremlin to end the‍ war that began in‌ February 2022 and has had widespread impacts on Ukraine,Europe,and global security.

Russia⁤ previously‌ set conditions for⁢ recognizing Crimea, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Donetsk, and⁣ Kherson as semi-autonomous regions. Moscow ‍also insists that Ukraine shoudl ⁤not⁣ join NATO and that its military must remain‍ non-aggressive.

It remains unclear whether key figures like Kiev or Washington agree ⁤with Russia’s proposed conditions for ending part of the conflict.
