Why the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army Cancelled His U.S. Visit

The Chief of Staff of the⁣ Israeli ⁣military canceled⁣ his trip to the United⁢ States due to escalating disagreements among the ⁢regime’s⁤ leadership over the Gaza war.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency ‌and Al Khalij ⁤Online, Israeli media have acknowledged sharp⁤ divisions among their officials.

In‌ this context, Israel’s Jerusalem Post ⁤revealed on Sunday that Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff⁣ of the Israeli military, has canceled his high-level‍ visit to the United States scheduled for Tuesday.

The Israeli ⁣outlet reported⁤ that the cancellation stems from a deadlock in ceasefire negotiations regarding Gaza and increasing disputes among Israeli officials about how to manage the war.

Earlier,Hebrew-language newspaper maariv reported dissatisfaction within Israel’s military toward political⁤ circles. ⁢A military source stated: “We don’t know ⁢what they want. Our operations in Gaza are complete; we’ve told political leaders it ‌is their turn.”

An official ⁤also ‌noted that the Israeli army has revised⁤ its stance on reaching an agreement with Hamas and now seeks a comprehensive deal.⁢ the military has warned political authorities⁢ about consequences if fighting in Gaza continues.

Eyal Zamir is attempting to present his ⁤plans to the cabinet; however, Prime Minister benjamin⁢ Netanyahu opposes holding meetings or reviewing these proposals.

Despite nearly⁣ two years‍ passing without ‌achieving goals such as completely dismantling Hamas or recovering Israeli captives, Tel Aviv continues intensifying⁢ attacks against Gaza.‌ Meanwhile, images showing severely underweight Israeli captives suffering from famine-related malnutrition in Gaza have ignited⁢ widespread anger⁤ within occupied territories against Netanyahu’s policies.
