Airstrikes Target ISIS Remnants in Iraq
The Iraqi Joint Operations Command announced the killing of several terrorists in an airstrike in Wadi Al-Shai, located in Salah al-din province, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Iraq’s WA’ Agency.
In a statement, the command said that as part of an offensive security operation to eliminate remaining ISIS militants and based on intelligence and technical efforts by the Joint Operations Command, a hideout east of Salah al-Din where a group of terrorists were present was identified.
The statement added that after completing all necessary preparations and target confirmation, Iraqi Air Force F-16 fighter jets successfully struck this key hideout. The attack resulted in the death of all terrorists inside and destroyed their equipment and communication devices.
Earlier security developments also saw ISIS operatives attempting to infiltrate areas within Diyala province. Though, timely intervention by Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) prevented them from achieving their objective.
