CNN: Trump-Zelensky Meeting Was Tense, Unfiltered, and At Times Uncomfortable
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, CNN reported on yesterday’s meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. The two leaders clashed over the fate of the war in Ukraine after their talks.
CNN quoted sources describing the meeting as “tense, candid, and at times marked by unpleasant arguments.”
The network added that Trump made it clear to Zelensky in a “direct and frank” conversation that Ukraine would not receive long-range missiles for now.
One source emphasized that ”Trump believed Ukraine sought to escalate and prolong the conflict. After their White House session, Trump and Zelensky disagreed on how to proceed with the war’s future.”
Earlier, American news site Axios cited sources reporting that trump told Zelensky there was currently no plan to provide Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. He prefers diplomacy and believes sending tomahawks would undermine diplomatic efforts.
