Hamas Condemns Israeli Settlement Expansion in West Bank

Hamas has condemned the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, denouncing the approval of new construction as a step towards the ‘Judaization’ of the region. The group urged international intervention to halt settlement plans and protect Palestinian rights.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas has issued a statement condemning the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

The Hamas movement stated that the approval of 764 new settlement units in the West Bank by what it termed the ‘Supreme Planning and Construction Council’ in the Israeli occupation cabinet is a new step toward Judaization. Hamas characterized this action as part of the occupation cabinet’s expansionist settlement policy aimed at seizing land and imposing complete control over the West Bank.

The statement described the settlement decision, and previous similar decisions, as a dangerous escalation and a blatant challenge to international laws and Security Council resolutions. Hamas added that this confirms the continuation of the creeping annexation policy and the seizure of Palestinian lands by the occupiers, in line with their project of forced displacement and uprooting of the region’s native inhabitants.

Hamas warned about the danger of the occupiers’ expansionist settlement approach, including confiscation, persecution, and restriction of citizens, especially farmers. They emphasized that the Palestinian people will not surrender to this oppression but will remain committed to their land and their rights. Hamas called on the international community to fulfill its legal and ethical responsibilities and take practical measures to deter the occupiers and stop the settlement plans that threaten the remaining lands of the West Bank, as well as halt the planned violations of the rights, land, and holy sites of the Palestinian people.
