UK Defense Chief: Russia Is Militarily Powerful; Prepare for War
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Richard Knighton, the head of the UK‘s defense staff, emphasized that Russia has implemented significant reforms in its defense sectors over the past two decades, focusing particularly on investing in its armed forces.
Knighton stated, “We should not live in illusion because Russia has a great power that is increasingly technically strengthened.”
He added that Russia is upgrading its military equipment, including torpedoes with nuclear warheads and nuclear-powered cruise missiles.
Continuing Europe’s Russophobic policies, Knighton stressed that despite the low probability of a direct, large-scale attack from Russia against the UK, all citizens, not just the armed forces, should be prepared for potential military engagement.
“The situation has become more dangerous than ever,” Knighton said. “More families will understand the meaning of sacrifice for the homeland.”
This comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously emphasized that his country has no intention of attacking European countries.
