Ukraine Crisis Talks to Be Held in Miami This Week

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, meetings to address the ongoing crisis in Ukraine are slated to occur in Miami this week. Citing a report from Axios, the gatherings will involve working groups focused on resolving the situation.
The Axios report indicates that during a dinner event hosted by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to connect via telephone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a number of key European leaders.
According to Axios, Washington’s proposed plan involves Ukraine withdrawing from areas it currently controls within the Donbass region. These territories would then be transformed into an economically free and demilitarized zone.
An American official stated that the decision regarding how to address the land issue has been entrusted to Ukraine, as reported by Axios.
Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal, referencing several Ukrainian and European officials, conveyed doubts about the possibility of reaching an agreement on Ukraine before the conclusion of the current year.
Bloomberg reported that Washington supports Moscow’s request for Ukrainian forces to withdraw from Donetsk, citing an informed source.
According to this report, Zelenskyy and his European allies have been insisting on a ceasefire in Ukraine along the current line of contact.
In a joint statement, Britain and Europe affirmed, “Ensuring the security, independence, and prosperity of Ukraine is a fundamental pillar of Euro-Atlantic security.”
The same statement claimed that Russia must compensate Ukraine for damages resulting from the war.
Furthermore, the statement strongly supports Kyiv’s integration into the European Union.
The joint statement emphasizes that international borders cannot be altered by force, and any decision regarding territories belongs to the people of Ukraine.
In a separate statement released by Al Jazeera from the European Union, the EU expresses support for providing strong security guarantees to Ukraine as part of any agreement aimed at ending the war.
This statement also highlights support for the formation of a multinational force led by Europe and backed by Washington as a security guarantee for Ukraine. It further supports the creation of an American mechanism for monitoring the ceasefire in Ukraine with international participation.
EU leaders also expressed their approval of the progress made by Donald Trump’s efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine.
These leaders announced that they have proposed the establishment of a multinational force to secure peace in Ukraine.
In related news, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz asserted that ending the senseless war in Ukraine is only possible through a demonstration of strength.
He added that lasting peace in Ukraine can only be achieved if the country’s sovereignty and its ability to defend itself against Russia are guaranteed.
