Russia Condemns US Blockade of Venezuelan Coasts as Aggressive Act at UN Security Council

Russia’s UN envoy Vasily Nebenzya denounced the US blockade of Venezuelan coasts as a blatant act of aggression during an emergency Security Council meeting, warning of catastrophic consequences.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s UN representative Vasily Nebenzya condemned the US naval blockade of Venezuela as a “complete and obvious act of aggression” during an emergency Security Council session. Nebenzya held Washington directly responsible for the potentially disastrous consequences of this unilateral action against the Latin American nation.

The Russian diplomat criticized the US administration for continuing what he called outdated policies toward Venezuela, accusing Washington of justifying its interference in Latin American affairs under the pretext of counterterrorism. “The Venezuelan government is legitimate,” Nebenzya asserted, “despite US attempts to unilaterally criminalize it.”

China’s UN ambassador echoed these concerns, opposing any foreign intervention in Venezuela’s internal affairs and rejecting what he termed illegal sanctions. The Chinese representative called on the US to respect Caribbean nations’ maritime security and sovereign rights, emphasizing Beijing’s opposition to all unilateral actions that violate national sovereignty.
