Saudi Arabia Warns UAE to Withdraw Forces from Yemen Within 24 Hours

Saudi Arabia has issued a stern warning to the UAE, demanding the immediate withdrawal of its forces from Yemen, while expressing regret over Abu Dhabi’s alleged pressure on the Southern Transitional Council.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia‘s Foreign Ministry has declared the actions of its ally, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in Yemen as “highly dangerous” and inconsistent with the principles of the Arab coalition. The ministry expressed regret over the UAE’s alleged pressure on Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council to conduct operations in Hadramout and Al Mahra, reaffirming its support for Yemen’s security, stability, and the leadership of the Presidential Council.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry emphasized that dialogue remains the only solution for southern Yemen’s issues and called on the UAE to comply with Yemen’s demand to withdraw its military forces within 24 hours. It also urged an end to all military or financial support to internal Yemeni factions, stressing the importance of safeguarding the interests of Yemen and the principles of good neighborliness among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

Rashad Al-Alimi, head of the Saudi-backed Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, accused the UAE of supporting rebels and fueling internal strife. He announced the cancellation of a mutual defense agreement with the UAE, demanding the withdrawal of Emirati forces from Yemen within 24 hours. Al-Alimi also declared a 90-day state of emergency across Yemen and a 72-hour suspension of all port and border activities, ordering Yemeni forces to take control of military centers in Hadramout and Al Mahra.
