Israel Expands Settlements Near Jordan Border, Plans Major Security Base

The Israeli government is accelerating plans to expand settlements near the Jordanian border, including the construction of a significant security base and a new city north of Jericho, according to Israeli sources.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli sources have announced that the regime’s cabinet is intensifying efforts to expand settlements close to the Jordanian border. This includes the establishment of a massive security base in the region with an estimated cost exceeding 5 billion shekels.

The ambitious plan involves the construction of a new city named ‘Tamara’ north of Jericho, which will accommodate four thousand residential units. Furthermore, this new settlement is slated to host military training centers and facilities for settlers to practice using weapons.

Published reports indicate that Israel intends to increase the settler population near the Jordanian border from 42,000 to 100,000 residents over the next decade. The stated objective behind this initiative is to counter potential anti-Israeli operations originating from the Jordanian border, drawing parallels to the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.
