US Troop Deaths Rise in Conflict with Iran; Another Soldier Dies in Kuwait

The United States Central Command announced the death of a National Guard soldier in Kuwait due to a medical emergency, bringing the total reported American casualties in the ongoing conflict with Iran to eight. This figure, however, is sharply contrasted by estimates from Iranian officials.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has released a statement confirming the death of a National Guard soldier who experienced a medical emergency in Kuwait in recent days. This incident marks a significant increase in reported American fatalities during the ongoing conflict with Iran.

CENTCOM stated that with the demise of this soldier, the total number of American personnel killed in the conflict with Iran has reached eight. Previously, several other American forces had lost their lives due to direct attacks and incidents related to military operations in the region.

Despite CENTCOM’s claim of eight American military deaths, Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has provided a starkly different assessment. Larijani stated that the number of American casualties since the beginning of the conflict is approximately 500.

In recent remarks on Saturday, March 6, 2026, Larijani asserted, “The Americans are lying when they say they had five to six deaths! Every so often they come and say, for example, twenty people died in an accident.” He further indicated the possibility of American soldiers being captured in certain areas and countries within the region, adding, “I have heard that American soldiers have been taken prisoner in some countries.”
