Iraqi Prime Minister and U.S. Secretary of State Discuss Regional Tensions

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed Baghdad’s commitment to protecting diplomats and preventing Iraq from becoming a theater for regional conflicts during a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, emphasizing the nation’s stance against any military actions originating from its territory.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, in a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, reiterated Baghdad’s dedication to safeguarding diplomats and ensuring Iraq does not become a venue for regional confrontations. Prime Minister al-Sudani stressed that Iraq is committed to preventing its soil from being used for any military actions against neighboring countries or the region.

The Iraqi Prime Minister further clarified that Baghdad insists on not engaging in military actions. Similarly, Iraq will not accept infringements upon its airspace by any party.
