Pakistan Prime Minister Visits Saudi Arabia to Discuss Regional Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Pakistan‘s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is undertaking a one-day visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The visit, as reported by Mehr News Agency via Al Jazeera, is aimed at addressing the current volatile situation in the region.
Pakistani news agencies reported that during his meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince, Sharif would engage in discussions concerning “ongoing regional tensions, the regional security situation, and bilateral relations.” A spokesperson for the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated during a weekly press briefing that the Prime Minister’s trip to Saudi Arabia “falls within the framework of coordination between the two countries on issues of regional peace and security and the cessation of violence.” These discussions come in the wake of significant regional instability following a joint military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran on February 28, 2026. This incident, which occurred amidst ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, resulted in the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and numerous other Iranian citizens, further exacerbating regional tensions.
