Russia Links Ukraine Talks Resumption to US Engagement, Cites Infrastructure Threats

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Presidential Administration spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Thursday that the cessation of trilateral negotiations regarding Ukraine is situation-dependent and has occurred for clear reasons. He indicated that these talks might resume when the United States can devote more attention to the issue and when agreements can be reached.
Peskov further elaborated on the ongoing security concerns, noting that Kyiv is intensifying efforts to conduct drone attacks against pressure-boosting stations for the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines. The Russian military is actively working to mitigate these threats posed by Kyiv to these vital infrastructure assets, with Peskov characterizing Kyiv’s attempts to target this infrastructure as irresponsible.
This development follows earlier remarks from Peskov in Moscow, where he responded to journalists’ inquiries by stating that the prospect of new rounds of negotiations with the United States and Ukraine, previously considered to be held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, had become difficult.
